How Engagements Work — Dogwood Field Consulting

Every advisory engagement follows a clear sequence. Knowing what to expect helps you prepare and ensures we use your time well.

1. Discovery conversation

We start with a 90-minute call at no charge. You describe the decision or challenge, we ask questions about context and constraints, and together we determine whether our advisory model is the right fit. If it is not, we will say so and suggest alternatives.

2. Proposal and agreement

Within five business days, you receive a written proposal covering scope, deliverables, timeline, fee, and payment terms. Once you accept and pay the deposit, we schedule the kick-off session.

3. Kick-off and data collection

The lead consultant meets with you and relevant team members to confirm the decision frame, assign data-gathering responsibilities, and agree on a communication cadence. We provide a preparation checklist tailored to your engagement.

4. Analysis and scenario development

Our team gathers evidence, builds scenarios, and pressure-tests assumptions. You receive interim updates at agreed checkpoints — typically weekly for project engagements.

5. Facilitated leadership session

Before the final recommendation is written, we facilitate a session with your leadership team to present preliminary findings, gather reactions, and identify any gaps in our analysis.

6. Final recommendation and handover

You receive the written decision brief, scenario comparison, and a final presentation session. We remain available for clarification questions for 30 days after delivery at no additional charge.
